December

This month has been crazy. So I guess I will just start from the beginning...

(well I guess the middle)

Two weeks before finals Chad got a phone call from the Littleton Hospital in Colorado. His dad was in a serious car accident and was in the ER. Turns out that his dad was in a head on collision at 40 miles an hour (the other car going even faster) and had broken many ribs, lacerated (sp?) his spleen and liver and was beat up with cuts and bruises all over.

Knowing that Chad's dad could not take care of the situation himself, Chad flew to CO the morning after his last final to take care of his dad. Luckily, the police report stated that the accident was not his father's fault and the other driver was driving too fast (recklessly).

His dad was in the ICU for 18 days and was finally released the day after Chad arrived in CO. This was such a blessing because if he had been released earlier, no one would have been able to take him to the Assisted Living Center. Yes, Chad's dad will be in an assisted living center until he can handle basic household duties on his own (he is still very weak from recovering and still in pain).

While Chad was there he contacted all necessary insurance agents/agencies, obtained his dad's belongings from the destroyed (not totaled, destroyed) car (see below) including his wallet, took him to the assisted living center, and cleaned and prepped his house. Chad was busy, busy and I am so proud of his hard work for his dad.

Chad flew back to Utah on Dec 23, and we both flew to OR on the 24th. It was crazy and thankfully the flights worked with us for the most part. We spent a few relaxing days at my parents house eating, sleeping, watching movies and eating more. It was great and nice to relax!

Hopefully January won't be as eventful!

Thanksgiving 2009

Don't get scared from the first picture presented. Despite my terrible appearance after sleeping in, Thanksgiving was a success.

YUM

Then we saw Blindside. Best Thanksgiving yet!

Carving Pumpkins

Chad and I had a ton of fun carving pumpkins this year. It was messy, but totally worth it!

I love pumpkins seeds. They were delicious and so easy to make!

Chad carved the grim reaper.

I carved a doggy. I am not sure why - it has nothing to do with Halloween...

I love Halloween!

My BIRTHDAY

I had the best birthday EVER this year. I woke up at 6 AM to get ready for work to THIS...

If that was not enough, it got BETTER. I was surprised when I walked in the door at 6 PM to find this amazing cake (thanks to Laura Howald) with candles lit...

It says: "Happy Birthday to My Little Banker"
Then Chad took me to see "The Proposal" at the dollar movie theater. We had both been wanting to see it and it was VERY good. I was laughing out loud the whole time!

...oh yeah and Chad got me this...I love it!

Perfect Day!

Same ol' thing

Now that school has started and I began work, not much happens around our apartment. Chad does a lot of late night studying again (gotta love the engineering program) and I cook, clean (ok...Chad mostly cleans, I admit it), and go to bed at 10:30 PM so that I can wake up at 6:00 am to get ready for work.

Chad and I decided that we want to work out more, but the gym has become boring to me. I think we are going to get a membership to a gym that does classes. Does anyone know a gym with good classes at 5 am or past 6 pm in Provo?

Also, Chad took the GRE this weekend. We are so glad its over. We are both so glad its over. Chad does not have to hear me nag him about studying and I don't have to nag anymore...IT'S GREAT!

Lastly, BYU got killed by Florida State yesterday. It was a very depressing game. More depressing will be me returning to my Ute office on Monday after talking oh so much trash...Thanks cougs...

I don't want to grow up...

Chad and I had a wonderful week; full of blessings and fun!
Below is a list of the wonderful events that occurred last Thurs, Fri and Sat.
1. I got a job! I went to SLC for an interview for an Executive Secretary Position and came out with a Financial Analyst position. I am a Finance/Credit Support Analyst for a industrial bank in SLC. (Friday) Today was my first day and I had a blast listening to a whole new language in a whole new world!
2. Chad's CAPSTONE group bid on several projects, along with the rest of the senior class, and got their #1 choice. They are redesigning football pads to reduce athlete injuries. Their sponsor is out of Oregon and wants to "reinvent the football world." He is really excited for this challenging CAPSTONE project. (Friday)
3. BYU beat Oklahoma - best game of my life! (Saturday)
We feel so blessed and hope the luck continues ;)

Space and Rocket Center

I surprised Chad this week by telling him that we were headed to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Let's just say that he was more giddy than a kid on Christmas morning.
Here are some pictures of the experience.
It was actually really fun and not just for engineering nerds :)

Fourth of JULY

Chad and I had so much fun at his sister's house in Chattanooga Tennessee. Here is us TRYING to wakeboard. We both got up on our first trip trying, so we thought that we were pretty professional.

The Morehouse's is always a blast!

Southern Livin'

Chad and I were able to meet my brother (Justin), sister-in-law (Jessi), and their kids (Jackson, Eddison, and Norah) in Atlanta this weekend. We all went to the aquarium and it was a blast. We had so much fun. Chad and I look really self-centered because we have no group pictures. Jessi took those and we will need to steal them off of her BLOG asap.
Thanks for meeting us guys. We had so much fun!!
The Georgia Aquarium is pretty famous and now we know why.
Here are some picture for you to enjoy!

This is a seahorse. Yes, the plant looking thing is a seahorse that blends into its surroundings perfectly. It was my favorite and was hard to recognize even standing right in front of it!
