Birmingham Alabama LDS Temple

Chad and I were able to take his great-grandfather and great-grandmother all the way through the temple last month.
We started early in the morning with the baptism and finished with the sealing at about 1:00 PM.
It was a really cool experience to do the work for someone so close in his ancestry.

We did baptisms so I look terrible. Just a disclaimer :)

Cutting Hair: Take 1

The other day chad FINALLY let me cut his hair.
Out of pure excitement and little patience, my first stroke with the hair clippers turned fatal...

Lets just say I went too high with the short guard on...

So, we decided to have some fun as we were going to have to buzz his whole head at this point anyway.

We decided the best thing to do was to try to fit in, in the South.
THUS, the mullet/mohawk was born. Accompanied by his brownish-red goatee!

I claim that my mistake was a blessing, as his hair is less hot in this MS heat.
We will see how long it will take before he lets me cut his hair again...sad...

This is for you Mom!

I decided to cut my hair shorter because it is so HOT in Mississippi.

We're Local Celebrities!!

Yes, Chad and I were featured in SNAP Fitness's local commercial. We are background worker-outers behind this very ripped black man. Nonetheless, we are local celebs.

Our Pond :)

We discovered this cute little pond. It's about a mile and a half around. We walk it every Sunday now!

We have ARRIVED!!!

These are all the pictures we took to document our JOURNEY. We were more energized in the beginning of the trip and got out to take pictures with the state signs. After too many driving hours, I just snapped pictures from inside the moving car.

Welcome to Oklahoma!!!
Yeah we forgot to take one of Oklahoma...

We have arrived. Chad is currently at work and really loving his internship. 4 tens in a week makes each day pretty long, but he is on his feet taking pictures of the assembly process most of the day, so he says it goes by fast.
I am currently sitting on our bed (the coolest place in the apartment, man it's hot here). I will just be job hunting until I find a simple summer job until we get back to Provo. The ward informed me that this small town suffers from unemployment and that jobs are few and far between, so if I don't find a job in this tiny town I decided that I will volunteer at the hospital...they can't reject me right :/
Well off to job searching. Who new a job at the mall would be so competitive down here. Wish me luck!

Graduation

I graduated from Brigham Young University this past April. I still don't feel like a college graduate...maybe because I am in a small town in MS and am getting rejected from working at Books A Million. Nonetheless, I DID IT. I did not walk because the Marriott School graduation is like 3 hours long, so the fam all went out to eat, took pictures and then watched a movie. It was great.
