I want to use this BLOG as a Journal/Yearbook for our family, so here we go.
Since I last blogged - LOTS has happened.
Parker was a football for Halloween :) Chad was supposed to be a football player, so I made a cute football outfit for Parker. Then the BYU vs GA Tech Football game turned out to be the same night as the Ward Party and Chad had class on Halloween night, so THIS GIRL, ended up being the football player. At least I had an excuse to wear stretchy pants ;)
I took this picture with my new camera and was SOOOO happy that for ONCE the picture did not turn out blurry. Parker pretty much moves constantly, so the new camera was a must. Now I just have to con my friend Annie Murdock into teaching me how to use the non Auto function in January ;)
That same weekend my brother Justin and my Dad flew into town for Parker's baby blessing (October 28, 2012). I made a bow tie for him that is now in a shadow box along with his blessing certificate and Lori Borg's mother made him sweet baby booties. He looked adorable and Chad did a wonderful job giving the blessing. Chad got really choked up and later told me that when he was giving the blessing he had the impression/realization that Parker is a child of God in our care to grow and develop, that he too will grow up, get married and have kids of his own. It is crazy to think that this little baby I hold and cuddle everyday will one day be giving his son a baby blessing.
In November, Chad's sister's family came down to our house for Thanksgiving. I have ZERO pictures - probably because Parker came down with a cold the week they came and I got zero sleep, then we cooked ALL day and it was definitely tiring. I did however get a picture of how we cooked our Turkey this year. It was cooked in a culvert, under ground with our ward for a youth fundraiser- it had a wonderful smokey taste and was a neat experience.
In December we got really busy but things got fun. Lot's of parties, dinners, goodies, etc. Our friends the Walkers threw a Ugly Sweater Party that was a lot of fun - Parker even participated ;) Chad did not win, but we had A LOT of fun chatting and laughing at everyone's outfit. For the Ward Christmas party, Chad was asked to be Santa. He ended up LOVING it and Parker got to sit with Santa (dad) for the first time.
Family Update (a tradition I borrowed from my mother's family)
Chad just finished his first semester at Emory University for his MBA. It was a whirlwind as his first class was the day we came home from the hospital with Parker. With work, school and a newborn, Chad had bitten off a lot to chew, but he did great! We are still waiting for his grades to post, but he did well throughout the semester and I am so proud of him! He loves business school and is very glad he went that route. He continues to work for Lockheed Martin as a Quality Engineer and enjoys his job. He spends a lot of time on the weekends doing projects around our new house and has become a real handy man! He loves college football, being a dad, watching movies with the family and Cheeseburger Bobbys (a new family favorite)!
Danielle retired on 11/30/12 ;) But really, Danielle quit Lockheed Martin after her maternity leave at the end of November. She loves being a stay at home mom and has found the transition to be easier than she expected. She enjoyed playing in the stake volleyball tournament and loves that the stake down here in GA has so many competitive players. She enjoys making decorations for around the house and is still finishing up Parker's room with homemade bookshelves and his crib skirt. She is getting accustomed to Chad being in school and working, but has been busy taking care of her baby boy. She loves being a mom and is excited to see what 2013 brings.
Parker is growing up SOOOO fast. He babbles all the time, sucks on his hands, toys, bibs, sleeves, and/or just basically anything in his reach. He loves to stand while you help hold him up. He smiles, giggles and is already in 6 mos clothes at 3 months old! He loves to suck on his tongue and stick it out and HATES to be alone - he is a little clingy towards mommy :/ He sleeps from 11 PM to 6:30 AM now (night owl - takes after his dad) then usually drinks 4 oz and goes back to sleep til 9 AM. I love all the sleep I am getting, but did not expect my 3 month old to have a teenager sleeping schedule ;) We are excited for his first Christmas! He is getting a Baby Einstein Saucer!!!
2012 was a year full of lots of firsts and change, we are excited for 2013 and are expecting it to be a little less hectic :)

You spent the past year growing, and then birthing, and caring 24/7 for a beautiful new baby...I'd say you've been pretty busy! You have become such a wonderful mommy!
This was a great post, my friend!
I'd love to help you get to know your camera. Now you have to come over and visit again! Let's do this.
